Well, it’s that time again. It’s time to pack up the toys and the family and head back out. This coming weekend, November 7, 8, & 9 will take us to Randsburg, or as it’s more commonly know, Matt’s place. Those of you unfamiliar with the area it’s located about 34 miles north of the 395 & 58 interchange. Once you hit 33 miles you will start to ascend a short grade and there will be a yellow cow sign at the top of the hill on the right. If you’re showing up later in the evening, we will have some glow sticks on the sign to mark it for you. Ed Arnitz and John Reinenga will be our trail bosses for the weekend and Ed has informed me that the signs leading in from the road will be up late Thursday. This weekend is a long weekend for most of the school districts and I have already heard of many families planning on staying out through Tuesday, so bring extra water. Ed and John will be hosting a poker run on Saturday that always promises to be a lot of fun. An actual group ride to an undisclosed location will be happening as well. Our official camp roster keeper, Karin Murray, has come up with a schedule for rides that we will be testing out this weekend. So, if you like it, great. If you didn’t, she’s the one with the Pomeranians. The mining town of Randsburg always attracts a ride or two from those craving the famous malt shop. A short easy ride will get you there in about 30 minutes on a bike or quad. Our Saturday morning meeting will be happening at 9 a.m. and our Saturday evening program will be kicking off at 7 p.m. Jackrabbits on Saturday will be led by Michelle Peltzer who is asking for volunteers to help out for future rides. Our fireside message will be on guilt and confession, so come with an open heart. Following our fireside, we will be having our dessert pot luck, so don’t forget to bring your favorite to share! The weather at this point is showing to be clear and 75, but as we saw last time, the weather man was a bit off!
Can’t wait to see you all again.
